Renovated Old Village House
A two-storey old village house in Kas, Cukurbag Village, built of stone, has been restored and transformed into a new home with all the comforts of modern life.
It is only 12 km (15 minutes) away from Kas, on the slope leading to the ruins of Phellos on the world famous ancient Lycia Walkway; in the midst of the quiet, calm and still unspoiled nature of colorful birds, rucksacks and squirrels circling around.
The stone house in Kas Cukurbag is overlooking the valley from the south-east and has a spacious view of the Mediterranean Sea from the hills. The garden of the stone house, which offers a nice coolness even on hot summer days due to its location, there are a variety of flowers, pine trees and piranhas, olive trees and almond trees; the most important product of the village. The pink-white flowers of the almond trees that show up like a bride in February turn into unripe (green) almonds in April and in to almond in August. The natural terraces of the garden are surrounded by natural stone walls and a wire mesh. Garden lighting is also available.
Renovated While Old is Preserved

At the end of the additions made; a large terrace on the front, two rooms, a fully equipped kitchen and a toilet / shower, an outside entrance depot, the upper floor; a bedroom and a modern bathroom, and a large wooden balcony opening onto the village valley view. (The large bedroom on the upper floor is obtained by joining two rooms and can be easily converted back into two rooms.)
The walls of the old house, 65 cm thick, were secured from two sides by the steel frame for additional protection against the earthquake, and all walls were reinforced with modern materials and techniques. The naturalness is preserved by plastering inside and outside the house with a special soil and water prepared with straw. The cedar wood beams, ceilings and floor coverings in the house are repaired, cleaned and polished. The roof was transferred, insulated, natural insulation with soil plaster was provided between the roof. In addition to the protection of the cedar trees in the old house, cedar trees have been used in kitchens and bathroom furniture, balconies and new roofs in the new areas. There is a spacious kitchen and cabinets made of cedar wood in the bathroom.
At home electricity and water facilities have been renovated. There are enough electric switches and plugs in the chamber. There are two hydrofoils pumping water from the water reservoir at the bottom of the garden to the two reservoirs at the upper terrain. Thanks to the above reservoirs, there is no water interruption even in the case of electricity cuts. Hot water is supplied by solar energy and there is also an electrical water heater. There is a system of reuse of kitchen and bath waste water for garden irrigation.
The house is ready to move and sit and also suitable to convert to B & B, hostel, restaurant or café. In addition to being on the Lycian way, it is also possible to evaluate it as a place for those who want to escape the summer heat due to its short distance from Kas and its surroundings
